在线教学已过去了三周,虽然我们很想念在校园里的学习生活,但为了我们的健康安全,大家都再坚持一下吧!我们来跟着老师们的分享,看看SIPC小学部充实而欢乐的在线教学时光吧!

Online teaching has been three weeks, although we miss the study life on campus, for our health and safety, we will all insist on it for a period of time! Let's share with the teachers and take a look at the happy online teaching time in SIPC Primary School.

过去几周,我们一直在进行网上在线教学。从第一天起,孩子们因能见到老师们和同学们都非常地兴奋。在线课堂上,我们继续指导阅读课,让孩子们和我一起阅读并回答问题。在Zoom上,共享屏幕的使用使得课堂变得非常有趣。孩子们很高兴能看到他们的朋友们,并和他们分享自己的习作。

Over the last weeks we have been teaching over the internet. On the first day the children were really excited to see their teachers and their classmates. In our online class, we continued with guided reading lessons, getting children to read along with me and answer questions. On Zoom, using the shared screen has been really fun. The students have enjoyed being able to see their friends as well as the work.

The children have done their best to get involved, with many students making videos of their learning to send out to their friends. We recently read a book about making pancake. Some students then decided to make a video showing the process of them making pancakes with their families. We have even had some students retell stories we have read, one student put on a magic show. Retelling the story of the magician and Kipper.

最令人惊叹的是,SIPC所有孩子的父母都是多么的投入,他们一直陪伴着孩子们,一起上课。我真的很高兴我们能和学生们有这样的联系,即使只是通过互联网。在这段经历中,我也很开心能够更好地了解家长们,并保持密切联系。

The most amazing part of all this is how involved the SIPC parents are, they have been taking part in lessons with their children. I am really happy that we are able to have this connection with the students, even over the internet. I have enjoyed being able to get to know the parents better as well as keep in close contact throughout this experience.

“我特别设计了很多课堂互动,

我们的目标是让所有的学生都参与进来。

课程以有趣的活动开始,

目的是让学生积极参与课堂。

Classes are designed to be interactive and in each class we aim to hear all of our students participate. Classes start with a fun activity aimed at getting our students active and participating in the lesson. 

 

在我们的第一节课上能看到所有的学生,和他们交谈,看到他们安全、快乐、健康,我感觉很奇妙。他们很高兴能回到课堂,和老师及同学们在一起。从一开始,全班同学就很喜欢这个新的学习平台。

在了解了班级情况并介绍了我们的新同学之后,我们很快建立了网课秩序。这对老师和学生来说都是一次新的经历。很高兴看到大家很快就适应了这种新形式。

In our very first lesson together, it was fantastic to see all of the students, talk with them and see that they were safe, happy and well. Their excitement to be back in class, with their teacher and fellow students, was clear. From the start, the whole class have really embraced the new learning platform.

After catching up with the class and introducing our new students, we quickly established our online class rules. This was a new experience for both teachers and students. It was wonderful to see how quickly everyone adapted to the new format.

我特别设计了很多课堂互动,我们的目标是让所有的学生都参与进来。课程以有趣的活动开始,目的是让学生积极参与课堂。热身后,我们便开始了真正的学习。在英语课上,我们学习了不同的课文,介绍了新的词汇,理解了不同类型的阅读理解问题。每一步学生都学得很愉快。

在很短的时间内,孩子们已经真正投入到了他们的在线学习中。他们每天都提交高质量的作业。然后,我们将作业及时批改并单独反馈给学生。很高兴看到学生们做出了良好成绩。最棒是,孩子们又回到了课堂,脸上带着微笑,享受着他们的学习。

Classes are designed to be interactive and in each class we aim to hear all of our students participate. Classes start with a fun activity aimed at getting our students active and participating in the lesson. Once we are all warmed up, we start out real learning goal. In our English classes, we have been studying different texts, introducing new vocabulary and understanding different types of reading comprehension questions. Every step of the way, students are participating in class.

In a short time, children have really engaged with their online learning. They are producing high quality work that is being submitted daily. Work is then marked and personalised feedback given to students. It is brilliant to see the students producing good work but, more than that, it is incredible that children are back in class, with smiles on their faces, enjoying their learning.

We have combined our online ‘live lessons timetable’ with ‘independent online learning tasks’. The most wonderful part during this challenge is seeing the happiness and eagerness of our students’ participation every day!

 

第二学期从冠状病毒爆发的消息开始。这意味着学校必须要采取紧急措施来保障学生和教职工的安全和健康。疫情的发展增加了第二学期开学时间的不确定性。在这场危机开始的时候,SIPC就表现出了应对危机的前瞻性,表达了希望能够继续为学生提供教育支持的愿景。在这个对于教师和学生来说非常不确定的时期,SIPC向公众展示了作为一所优秀学校的风姿。学校积极行动使得SIPC成为深圳率先开展“线上教学”的国际学校之一。

Semester 2 began with the upsetting news of the Coronavirus Outbreak. This meant our school had to put in emergency arrangements to look after the safety and wellbeing of our students and staff. News of the virus meant there was uncertainty of when Semester 2 might begin. From the beginning of this crisis, SIPC showed forward thinking and the desire to continue with the education of our students. In what could have been a very uncertain time for teachers and students, SIPC showed what a truly great school we are. Making proactive choices, SIPC became one of the the first international schools in Shenzhen to begin ‘live online lessons’.

为了成功地开展网络教学,我校整合了多个平台,最终选择了Zoom App,这是一个领先的在线视频课程软件。同时我们也使用Claa Dojo作为家校联络的官方沟通工具。每天,我们会在家长微信群与家长进行直接和即时的沟通。每一位老师都可以在这个软件上面与家长分享并且回答家长关心的问题。除此之外,我们还会使用学校官方邮箱与家长和学生取得进一步的交流,答疑解惑。家长通过发送电子邮件的方式来上交学生们的作业。这有助于每个老师掌握学生的习得程度,有助于教师开展接下来的教学。

To make online teaching a success, our school has combined a number of platforms. We introduced the Zoom App, a leading online interface for live video lessons. We also use our Class Dojo App as the official communication tool between staff and parents. Each day, we use our WeChat groups to make direct and instant communication with parents. Each teacher is available all throughout the school day to share information and answer any parent concerns. Our final online platform is using staff email for communication with parents and students.  To collect the homework tasks, parents email the work to each teacher’s staff email. This helps each teacher assess student learning and to ensure we continue to make progress with our curriculum.

In SIPC, we are using two methods of online learning. We have combined our online ‘live lessons timetable’ with ‘independent online learning tasks’. Each day, students meet, interact and learn with their teachers in our ‘live video classroom lessons’. Once the live video lessons have finished, the students then have independent online tasks to complete. Each teacher is making and designing interesting and engaging learning material to ensure our students are continuing to get a complete education.

过去的两周,四年级的同学们对于在网上见到自己的同学感到兴奋。在课堂中能够感受到大家对于学习的渴望。能够完成每天布置的所有学习任务,并迅速发邮件给我展示他们的作业。我收集每一份作业,并将其保存到每个学生的个人文件夹。这个在线“学习档案”非常适合用来评估学生的能力和发展。

在线网络课堂中,过去两周的重点是指导阅读课。阅读课可以培养学生们的阅读、写作和口语技能。作为一名教师,刚开始在线教学时我也是比较紧张的。我担心课堂会出现技术问题,或者这些课程会不会像“真正的”课堂那样能够让学生“动手操作”并且能够实现互动。在我们真正的课堂上,我们经常以学习小组的形式来一起完成作业。我担心孩子们会因为错过这些机会而感到难过。但是学生们在我们的在线网络课堂中学习的积极性是如此之高!学生渴望在每一节课学有所获我最希望看到的!学生们通过使用PPT、视频和创造性的工作纸,竭尽全力参与到课堂中来。

作为一名教师,我知道与家长沟通和保持积极的关系是多么重要。在SIPC,我们非常幸运地得到了家长们的全力支持。需要强调的是,在帮助我们的在线学习取得成功的过程中,父母是不可或缺的,也是非常重要的。在课堂上听到家长们小声地协助孩子们回答问题是非常愉快的。这是一件让我感到开心的事情,并且希望它能继续下去。父母的帮助是对我们的在线网络课堂最强有力的支持。

During the past two weeks, Grade 4 have been very excited to meet classmates online. They have shown great maturity and an eagerness to participate and learn. The students have completed all the learning tasks assigned each day and they quickly email me to show their work! I collect each piece of work and save it to a personal folder for each student. This online ‘learning portfolio’ is fantastic to assess the students’ ability and development.

During the live lessons, our focus for the past two weeks has been Guided Reading lessons. These lessons are very structured and develop reading, writing and speaking skills. As a teacher, I was nervous at the beginning of the online teaching. I was worried the technology might not work or that the lessons would not be as ‘hands-on’ and interactive as a ‘real’ classroom. In our classroom, we regularly learn with groupwork tasks. I was worried the children would lose out and suffer by missing these opportunities. But the students have been so motivated to learn while doing our online classes! This is the best part- the students wanting to learn in every lesson we have! Using interactive PPTs, Videos and creative worksheets, the students have done their best in lessons.

As a teacher, I know how important it is to communicate and have a positive relationship with parents. In SIPC, we are very fortunate to have the full support of parents. It is really important to highlight that parents have been integral and very important in helping with the success of our online learning. It is really enjoyable to hear parents ‘whispering’ help and answers to their children in the middle of the lesson! It always makes me smile and I hope to see it continues. To know that parents are right there guiding their children is a wonderful comfort!

我们的在线网络课程既有趣又有很高的参与度。学生在不断地成长和发展。将我们的在线网络课堂和独立的在线学习任务结合起来,对学生来说是有益的。在线网络课堂上,学生们每天可以和老师互动。在线网络课堂结束之后又可以通过自主学习任务,教师设计个性化的学习活动来帮助每个学生取得进步。

目前,SIPC的每个人都将继续通过我们的在线教学提高自己。我们将继续与学生同行。在这次挑战中最精彩的部分是看到我们的学生每天都很开心并且渴望参与到课程中来!

Our online lessons have been fun and engaging. Our students are continuing to grow and develop. Combining our live lessons and independent online learning tasks has really been positive for the students. In our live lessons, the students have daily contact time with their teachers. Then, with the independent learning tasks, teachers have designed personalized learning activities to help with each student’s progression.

For now, everyone at SIPC will continue to improve with our online teaching and learning. We continue to share ideas about what is best practice for our students. The most wonderful part during this challenge is seeing the happiness and eagerness of our students’ participation every day!

we have managed to turn it into a positive, where everyone has come together, in what has proved to be a real learning community. I am very thankful to be a part of this, and to see how obstacles can be overcome together in what has been a real team effort.

 

学校在春节假期后无法正常开学,这让我们陷入了窘境。我们如何才能为孩子们提供建设性的学习素材,并确保他们在家里就能得到高质量的教育?幸运的是,通过集体共同的努力,我们找到了解决方案。通过齐心协力,学校、家长和孩子们得以适应,找到了在家完成学习任务和积累学习经验的方法。

Due to unfortunate circumstances, we found schools unable to open after the New Year break. This left us all in a bit of a quandary! How could we provide constructive learning, and ensure the children get some quality education from home? Luckily, thanks to a huge group effort the solution was found. By pulling together, the school, the parents, and the children were able to adapt, and find a way to provide a great learning experience from home.

网上课程,通过不同的平台,我们可以上课,互相交流和分享学习成果。孩子们和家长们的反馈非常好。我们没有被现状所阻碍,已经成功地把它转变为一个积极的、大家共同努力的学习社区。

孩子们每一天都接触了多门功课。在英语课上,我们提供了指导性的阅读课程,同时让孩子们按照当天的阅读任务独立学习。我们能够对故事中的内容进行讨论和做出预测,在此期间也对语法问题进行穿插讲解。通过讨论和自主学习,我们也对所学内容有了更加深入的理解。除此之外,孩子们通过老师布置的作业以及额外的IXL复习和学习素材完成数学的自主学习。

 

 

Last week we began online classes. By using different platforms, we have been able to take part in classes, communicate with each other, and share work with each other. The response of the children, and parents has been fantastic. Rather than be hindered by our current situation, we have managed to turn it into a positive, where everyone has come together, in what has proved to be a real learning community.

The children have been engaged in numerous lessons throughout the day. In English we have been able to provide guided reading lessons, with independent learning focusing around the reading task that day. We have been able to discuss and make predictions in our stories, and focus on different aspects of grammar through these lessons. We have also carried out some comprehension work, both through discussion and home learning. On top of this the children have been carrying out independent learning in Maths through both teacher assigned work, and with access to IXL available as an extra source of revision, and learning.

孩子们表现非常出色,能够适应新的学习环境,并且积极参加各种学习活动。家长们也非常乐于分享和提供正面反馈。对于原本可能会成为阻碍的事情,我们已经可以积极应对。我非常开心能成为SIPC的一员,并看到如何在真正的团队努力中一起克服障碍,我感到非常欣慰。

The children have been excellent, adapting to their new learning medium, and taking an active part in all learning. The parents have been instrumental in helping teachers to share work, and providing much positive feedback. What could have been as a hinderance, has been turned into something positive, and I am very thankful to be a part of this, and to see how obstacles can be overcome together in what has been a real team effort.
